Education forms half of the American Shakespeare Center‘s mission, and we aim to spread the love of Shakespeare far and wide, using Shakespeare’s own staging and rehearsal conditions to recover the great joy of playing and the brilliance of his wordcraft and stagecraft. Our programs fall into four categories:
- Research and Scholarship: including the Blackfriars Conference, the Mary Baldwin University MLitt/MFA program, our Staged Reading series, and the OCS archives
- Educator Resources: including Teacher Seminars, Student Matinees, Study Guides, workshops, and Little Academes
- College Prep: including our summer Theatre Camps and our Education Residencies
- Personal Renaissance: including the No Kidding Shakespeare Camp for adults, the Blackfriars Lecture Series, Playhouse tours, podcasts, Leadership and Corporate Training, and more
